OPEN
ROADS.
A playable racing experience exploring speed, environments, and real-time interaction.

BUILT TO BE DRIVEN.
Open Roads is a playable racing experience I developed using Unreal Engine 5. The gameplay demo captures the experience in action: sports cars, racing sequences, player-facing interface elements, and several distinct driving environments.
Unlike a single still render, the project has to communicate through interaction and movement. The driver's viewpoint, the pace of the road, and the visibility of the surrounding environment all shape how the experience feels.
The video shows a working project, including game-mode selection and footage from multiple driving locations. My emphasis for this case study is on the resulting experience rather than undocumented technical implementation details.

DESIGNED AROUND MOMENTUM.
What makes Open Roads compelling as a portfolio project is its combination of gameplay and visual presentation. Track racing contrasts with greener exterior spaces and more enclosed, dramatically lit environments, giving the driving footage a sense of variety.
The images above are taken directly from the provided gameplay recording. Together with the playable demo, they show a real-time project rather than a static pitch or an imagined game.
